How to Make It

Layer Chicken & Seasonings

Place the raw chicken breasts at the bottom of your slow cooker insert. Season lightly with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and poultry seasoning.

Add Mixed Vegetables

Pour the bag of frozen mixed vegetables directly over the seasoned chicken in an even layer.

Add Soup & Slow Cook
3-4 hrs High or 6-7 hrs Low

In a bowl, whisk together the cream of chicken soup and chicken broth. Pour evenly over the chicken and vegetables. Cover and cook on LOW for 6–7 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours until the chicken is tender.

Shred Chicken & Add Noodles

Remove the chicken, shred it with two forks, and return it to the slow cooker. Stir in the wide Amish egg noodles (and an extra 1/2 cup broth if needed).

Simmer Until Tender
20-30 minutes

Cover and cook on HIGH for 20–30 minutes until the noodles are tender and the gravy has thickened. Stir in 2 tablespoons of butter right before serving.

Quick Cooking Tips

Noodle Check: Because thick Amish egg noodles soak up a lot of liquid, check after 15 minutes of adding them. If the stew looks too thick, stir in a splash of warm chicken broth or milk.

  • For Fresh Herbs: A sprinkle of fresh parsley or thyme right before serving brightens up the rich savory flavors.

  • Make-Ahead Option: Cook the chicken and sauce in advance, then drop in the noodles shortly before serving so they don’t overcook or absorb too much liquid while sitting
