TEXAS ROADHOUSE’S ROLLS: A Taste of Southern Comfort

 

INGREDIENTS LIST:

1 Cup.Of whole milk.

1/4 Cup.Of warm water (around 110°F or 45°C).

2 1/4 Tsp.Of active dry yeast (1 packet).

1/4 Cup.Of granulated sugar.

4 Cups.Of all-purpose flour.

1/2 Cup.Of unsalted butter, softened.

1 large egg.

2 Tsp.Of salt.

Butter (for brushing).

Honey Cinnamon Butter (Optional):

1/2 Cup.Of unsalted butter, softened.

1/4 Cup.Of powdered sugar.

1/4 Cup.Of honey.

1 Tsp.Of ground cinnamon.

INSTRUCTIONS:

1st Step

In a small basin, combine the yeast and tepid water. Allow it to rest for approximately 5 minutes, or until it becomes foamy. This indicates the yeast is alive and well.

2nd Step

Warm the whole milk in a small saucepan over low heat until it registers approximately 110°F (45°C). Be wary of overheating.

3rd Step

Combine the activated yeast mixture, tepid milk, sugar, and 3 cups of flour in a large mixing basin. Blend until a batter is formed.

4th Step

Mix in the egg, salt, and butter that has been softened in the microwave. Continue to incorporate until thoroughly blended.

5th Step

Add the remaining cup of flour gradually while kneading the dough until it is smooth and slightly glutinous. This ought to take between 5 and 7 minutes.

Place the dough in a greased basin, cover it with a clean dish towel, and allow it to rise in a warm location for approximately one hour, or until it has doubled in size.
