Cube Steak Smothered With Onion Gravy

 

Ingredients:

1 ½ lb. flank steak cubes, brined before cooking.

14 ounces of beef stock.

⅓ cup of flour.

Half garlic salt.

Salt and pepper.

One diced large onion.

Half a cup of vegetable oil.

One package of dry onion soup mix.

Instructions:

Step 1

First, mix flour, pepper, and garlic salt in a shallow bowl, and flour a side cube of steak.

Step 2

Then, heat the oil and cook the meat cubes over medium heat for about 5 minutes per side in a large frying pan, remove meat and set aside.

Step 3

In this step, add the onion soup mix, broth, and onion, then scrape bottom of the skillet to get browned bits.

Step 4

Next, bring the mixture to a simmer, cook until the onions become soft, and place the steaks back in the pan, flipping to coat and warm on both sides.
