HOMEMADE SPAGHETTI

 

INGREDIENTS YOU’LL NEED:

FOR THE SAUCE:

2 Tbsp.Of olive oil.

1 onion, finely chopped.

3 cloves garlic, minced.

A 14-oz can.Of crushed tomatoes.

An 8-oz can.Of tomato sauce.

1 Tsp.Of dried basil.

1 Tsp.Of dried oregano.

Salt and pepper to taste.

FOR THE SPAGHETTI:

1 Lb.Of spaghetti noodles.

Salt for boiling water.

Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving.

Fresh basil leaves, for garnish (optional).

PREPARATION:

1st Step:

Warm the olive oil in a big saucepan by heating it over medium heat. Add the garlic that has been minced and the chopped onion. It should take around three to four minutes of sautéing for the onions to become tender and transparent.

2nd Step:

In a saucepan, add the smashed tomatoes together with the tomato sauce. Combine everything by giving it a thorough stir. Salt, pepper, dried basil, and oregano are the seasonings that should be added to the sauce. To incorporate the spices, stir the mixture.

3rd Step:

After turning the heat down to a low setting, cover the sauce and let it simmer for at least 20 minutes to enable the flavors to come together. Mix it up every once in a while to avoid any sticking.

4th Step:

In the meanwhile, have a big pot of salted water boiling on the stove. Cook the spaghetti noodles until they reach the desired al dente consistency, following the directions on the box. The noodles should be drained.

5th Step:

Put the spaghetti noodles that have already been cooked into the pot with the sauce. To ensure that the sauce is distributed evenly over the noodles, give them a little toss.

6th Step:
