I Tried Baking Soda on My Feet—Here’s What Happened!

Baking soda isn’t just for your pantry—it can also do wonders for your feet! This everyday ingredient boasts powerful properties that help refresh tired feet, improve skin health, and tackle common foot issues like odor and rough patches. Here’s how it worked for me, and how you can benefit from it too.

Why Baking Soda is Great for Your Feet

Baking soda, also known as sodium bicarbonate, is a natural exfoliant that offers antibacterial, antifungal, and deodorizing benefits. These qualities make it perfect for addressing foot problems like dryness, calluses, and unpleasant odors.

My Experience Using Baking Soda on My Feet

What You’ll Need:

  • 3 tablespoons of baking soda
  • Warm water (enough to fill a foot soak basin)
  • Optional: A few drops of essential oil (like lavender or tea tree) for added relaxation and antibacterial benefits

Steps:

  1. Prepare the Foot Soak: Fill a basin with warm water and mix in the baking soda. If you like, add a few drops of essential oil to enhance the relaxing and antibacterial effects.
  2. Soak Your Feet: I soaked my feet in the solution for about 15-20 minutes. Almost instantly, I could feel the rough skin softening.
  3. Exfoliate: After soaking, I used a pumice stone to gently scrub off dead skin, focusing on calluses and dry patches.
  4. Rinse and Moisturize: I rinsed my feet with clean water, dried them off, and applied a rich moisturizer to lock in hydration.
