Amish-Style Crispy Onion Fritters



1 cup flour

2 teaspoons sugar

2 teaspoons yeast

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

2 tablespoons corn flour

2 1/2 cups chopped onions

1 cup milk

1/2 cup cooking oil


In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, black pepper, and corn flour until well combined. Set aside.
Prepare the onions.

Add the chopped onions to the flour mixture.

Pour in the milk and stir until thoroughly blended.

Heat cooking oil in a large skillet over high heat.

Spoon the onion mixture into the hot oil.

Cook until golden brown on one side, then flip to brown the other side.
This recipe yields 10 to 12 delicious onion fritters.
