Step 1: Choose the Optimal Time
Propagate rosemary in the spring or summer when the plant is actively growing.
Step 2: Select and Prepare Cuttings
Pick healthy, non-flowering stems about 4-6 inches long. Cut just below a leaf node and remove the leaves from the lower half of the stem.
Step 3: (Optional) Apply Rooting Hormone
For faster root development, dip the cut end of the stem in rooting hormone.
Step 4: Plant the Cuttings
Place the cuttings in a well-draining soil mix like sand and peat moss or standard potting soil. Insert each cutting 1-2 inches deep and water lightly.
Step 5: Maintain a Humid Environment
Cover the pot with a plastic bag or use a propagator to retain moisture. Keep the cuttings in a warm spot with indirect sunlight.
