INGREDIENTS NEEDED:
1 Cup.Of unsalted butter, softened.
1/2 Cup.Of powdered sugar (plus extra for coating).
2 Tsp.Of vanilla extract.
2 Cups.Of all-purpose flour.
1 Cup.Of finely chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts work well).
INSTRUCTIONS:
1st Step–Prepare the Cookie Dough:
If you haven’t already, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until light and fluffy.
2nd Step –Add Flour and Nuts:
Gradually add the all-purpose flour to the butter mixture, mixing until well combined. Fold in the finely chopped nuts of your choice – pecans or walnuts add a delightful crunch.
3rd Step – Shape the Cookies:
Roll out tiny amounts of the dough into bite-sized balls. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, allowing some space between each cookie.
4th Step – Bake:
Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are gently brown, in a preheated oven. Avoid overbaking; the idea is to produce a delicate, sensitive texture.
5th Step – Coat in Powdered Sugar:
Allow the cookies to cool for a few minutes. While they are still warm, gently roll each cookie in powdered sugar until fully coated. This step imparts the characteristic “snowball” appearance.
6th Step – Second Coating (Optional):
For an extra snowy effect, you can give the cookies a second coating of powdered sugar once they have cooled completely.
7th Step – Serve and Enjoy:
Arrange your Snowball Cookies on a festive platter and delight in the irresistible combination of buttery cookie goodness, crunchy nuts, and the sweetness of powdered sugar.
