THE INGREDIENTS LIST:
FOR THE MEAT FILLING:
450 grams.Of ground beef.
A small onion – diced.
2 garlic cloves – minced.
1 packet.Of taco seasoning.
1 15-oz can.Of refried beans.
A 10-oz can.Of diced tomatoes with green chilies.
FOR THE CASSEROLE:
6 large flour tortillas,
2 cups.Of shredded Mexican cheese blend.
1 can (15 ounces) of enchilada sauce.
Optional toppings: sour cream, guacamole, chopped cilantro.
Prepare a baking dish that is 9 inches by 13 inches and gently oil it. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius).
Cook the ground beef in a large pan over medium heat until it has a browned appearance. After adding the chopped onion and garlic, continue to sauté for an additional two to three minutes, or until the onion reaches a translucent state.
After removing any extra grease from the pan, continue by adding the taco seasoning, chopped tomatoes with green chilies, and refried beans. After giving the mixture a good stir to integrate all of the components, bring it to a simmer and let it cook for five minutes to let the flavors to mingle.
Put a layer of three tortillas in the bottom of the baking dish that has been buttered. Make sure to slightly overlap each tortilla so that the whole area is covered.
After spreading half of the meat filling out equally over the tortillas, generously sprinkle some shredded cheese over the top of each one. After the cheese has been layered, pour half of the enchilada sauce on top of it and spread it about so that it covers the whole surface.
Repeat the layering process by stacking another layer of three tortillas on top, followed by the remaining meat filling, shredded cheese, and enchilada sauce. Repeat this process until all of the ingredients have been used up.
At this point, you should cover the casserole with aluminum foil and place it in an oven that has already been warmed for twenty minutes. Because of this, the flavors will be able to combine, and the cheese will be able to melt.
After the first 20 minutes, take the foil off the dish and continue baking for another 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbling and golden brown.
After the casserole has finished cooking, take it out of the oven and allow it to cool for a few minutes. This will make it much simpler to divide it into individual servings.
The Easy Burrito Casserole should be served hot, with toppings such as sour cream, guacamole, and chopped cilantro, all of which are optional.
